Goodyear is known throughout the world, being one of the leading tire companies.  It is considered as the biggest tire maker in North and Latin America and the second in Europe.  Goodyear has more than 57 manufacturing plants that are located in 23 countries.  The company first began in 1898 by Frank A. Seiberling when he bought his first tire plant using $3,500 borrowed from his brother-in-law, Lucius Miles, to pay for the down payment.  The bicycle business was booming at that time and the horseless carriage had just come out. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company was incorporated on the same year with a capital stock of $100,000.  It was named after Charles Goodyear who discovered vulcanization but died penniless 30 years prior to the founding of Goodyear. Rubber and cotton that was vital to the manufacture of tires had to be hauled halfway around the world to the small town that had very limited transportation options.

The company logo of Goodyear, the winged-foot got its inspiration from a statuette of the Roman God Mercury which Frank Seiberling had in his home.  He saw that it was a symbol of what the company’s products were known for.

One of the company’s popular products is the Goodyear Assurance Tripletred. It is a premium all-season passenger tire for coupes, sedans and minivans.   The combination of traction that is fit for wet conditions plus the grip for light snow makes it suitable for most of your needs. The tires may cost a little bit more but the longer treadlife and 80,000 mile warranty more than compensates for the higher cost of the tire.  It is quiet on the road and is most preferred by drivers who do not want to hear unnecessary noises when travelling down the lonely highway.

The Goodyear Tripletred has a directional tread design that gets a solid grip on the road and it provides a stable corner turns and lane changing. You will notice your steering wheel is more responsive to slight turns and this can be very beneficial if you need to make a fast swerve. One of the best Goodyear Assurance tires, it has an intermediate water zone with carved Aquachutes that draw out water away from the tire tread.  This has been proven to have more contact on the road and provide a stable grip during wet or winter road conditions so hydroplaning and tire spinning is eliminated which makes for a safer run.  Its heavy siped interlocking rib has increased traction in light snow and even on icy roads.  . Inside the Assurance Tripletred’s radial is a polyester cord body with twin steel belts reinforced with spiral nylon edge provides added strength and durability. The Permablock sidewalls give the tire a consistently new appearance even after several uses. It has been rated to have a tread life of 130,000 kilometers.

The Goodyear Assurance Tripletred tire combines an excellent grip, a quiet and comfortable ride and durability. This is one proven product that makes Goodyear tires one of the most sought-after tire brands in the industry.
